Wednesday 12th October 2016

Perfect weather this afternoon for our annual Plympton Family Cross Country.  Over 60 children from 5 schools came along to take part and compete for their teams. The competition was fierce with a lot of very strong runners on the day. As the runners came over the line they were given a place card and these were collated by their staff—the top 4 runners from all schools were counted and the school with the overall lowest score for the boys and girls were the winners. Woodford Primary were on top form this afternoon with both the girls and boys teams taking the trophies for top spot. As well as the team trophies, the 3 fastest girls and 3 fastest boys were awarded medals; congratulations to  Phoebe (Woodford), Maya (Boringdon) and Sophia (Plympton St. Maurice) who took the top 3 sports for the girls and Billy (Woodford), Joe (Montpelier) and Ben (Woodford) who were the fastest 3 boys.

Congratulations to everyone who took part—I really hope that you all enjoyed it and I hope to see the Y5’s back again next year.

I would like to thank all of the young leaders from Heles school who helped out on the day and also to the amazing volunteers from Plymouth University—it is always such a huge event and you all help to make it run very smoothly.
